Sometimes booking with OTA’s pays off…

Qatar Airways recently launched some of their most aggressive sales of the year, particularly for travel out of North America, which hardly ever sees any good fares for the front of the plane. This is one of those rare times where the fares are really good. Before the sale comes to a close, you can take $100 off the already fantastic $2000 round trip fares to Thailand by using an online travel agency.

Qatar has almost single handedly revolutionised business class. They were the first to put doors on business class suites, and amongst the first to introduce the dine on demand concept travellers now crave. The airline has launched $2000 round trip flights between Montreal and Bangkok, and there are a few reasons to really consider them, if you can swing it using cash or points…

  • Montreal is easy to reach from most midwest and East Coast USA hub cities.
  • When you return from the trip, you’ll pre-clear immigration in Canada.
  • At least two segments should be guaranteed to offer Qsuites, which are amazing.

These deals are bookable directly with Qatar Airways for $2000, which is an awesome deal, but if you use an online travel agency you can drop the price by about $100, which is seriously tempting. If you book via Expedia at the $2000 price, you could also use your Chase Ultimate Rewards Points via the Chase Sapphire Reserve card to book these flights for around 130,000 points. Considering how many you’ll earn back, it’s a great deal.

These flight deals are wide open from September 2019 thru April 2020 for Montreal departures on Mondays, Wednesdays or Sundays. Amazingly, there’s only a two night minimum stay requirement, but considering it takes about two days to get to Bangkok, you’ll probably want to stay in Asia a little bit longer. That’s just fine.

The best ways to book these flights are direct with Qatar Airways for $2000, via an online travel agency for $1905, or via Chase Ultimate Rewards using around 130,000 points, or a combination of some points and some cash.

Here’s an example link to these deals on Google Flights.

You really can’t go wrong. Here’s a review of the Qatar Qsuites experience, and if you do decide to make the trip, here’s a bunch of tourist mistakes to avoid when you get to Bangkok, and a good hotel recommendation too. See, we got ya’ covered.
