Update: this offer is scheduled to end after November 14th, 2022.

In November of 2021, Capital One unveiled the Venture X Card, which feels like the premium credit card the world finally deserves. It’s simple, it’s ridiculously rewarding and the perks are sensational for any avid traveler.

There’s plenty to love about the card, but the 10X points earning on hotels and car rentals, $300 annual travel credit and game changing price drop protection and new flight cancellation option, plus $200 toward Airbnb or VRBO make it pretty hard to look past right now!

And frankly, you probably shouldn’t. 100,000 point offers never stick around forever, and we now know that the card will soon expire that offer. With so many people who previously had issues getting approved finding themselves approved, here’s why this might be the time to jump in.

Oh, and there’s a new transfer partner — it’s Virgin!

But First, New Flight Cancellation Feature

Capital One started to iterate in the travel booking space with price drop protection, and as teased, they’ve now gone further. You can now pay a small fee to cancel any flight, for any reason at all, no questions asked.

It’s kinda like travel insurance, but better. The travel must be booked with Capital One Travel, but at the booking stage you have the option of selection no hassle cancellation and adding it to the cart.

If for any reason you can’t travel and want your money back, you get it all back, minus what you paid for the added protection. That’s something no airline is even offering right now!

Capital One Venture X Offer Ends March 14th

The Capital One Venture X Card is no longer a concept, but a reality which potentially brings the best earning rates of any premium credit card, all with an annual fee that doesn’t require fidgeting and spreadsheets to recoup.

It’s $395, but you pretty much instantly can make that back every year and a whole lot more, thanks to the $300 travel credit and 10,000 bonus points each year.

You earn at least 2X on all purchases and up to 10X on travel booked via Capital One Travel: 5X on flights and 10X on car rentals and hotels. That equates to at least a 10% rebate on hotel bookings, or better. And even better, the points can now be converted to airlines 1:1 or used as cash back — it’s up to you.

Capital One just also announced a new transfer partner, Virgin Red, which will give 1:1 access to not only Virgin Atlantic Flying Club, but also the Virgin Red program in the US, with experience days and access to Virgin Hotels using points.

Limited Time Offer Is On Borrowed Time (Plus New Features)

If you want a deeper dive into the many merits of this new card, head here. If you already have, read on to see why now is a great time to apply. Hint: limited time offer!

For a limited time, which we now know is March 14th, the card is bringing a whopping $500+ in instant value, in addition to access to the new Capital One Lounges, Priority Pass and potentially priceless travel protections, like partial refunds when flight prices drop.

Oh, and there’s 100,000 points too.

Each year the new Capital One Venture X Card offers a $300 annual travel credit plus 10,000 bonus points, but for early adopters, a $200 VRBO or Airbnb credit is also up for grabs. Basically, you’re signing onto a $395 a year card, which is bringing more value from day 1, and continues to each year.

The thought of using the $300 travel credit to book flights and $200 to save on VRBO or Airbnb is enough to propel a trip right out of the gates. And that’s before we get into the 100,000 point bonus.

And yes — the card is offering an incredible 100,000 point sign up bonus. It’s worth noting that Capital One recently added 15 of its transfer partners to 1:1 tier, meaning 1 Venture Mile is now 1 airline mile with many of the best loyalty programs.

GSTP Take: A No Brainer

This card is incredibly lucrative and I’ll absolutely be among those applying.

I know I’ll be able to recoup my annual fee every year with ease, but benefit from huge travel protections like “price freeze”, “price drop protection” and others, as Capital One continues to iterate and innovate in the booking space.

The 100,000 points will certainly fuel some fun travels too. You can check out the new Capital One Venture X offer with the extra $200 Airbnb/VRBO credit here.

  1. Thanks for all of the detailed info… I was quickly approved! If any fellow readers are signing up and would like to use my referral link… it would be greatly appreciated!! 🙂 Safe travels and have an awesome day!

    1. I’d agree with you, if not for the incredible features. I’d rather book with Capital One than direct, based on price drop protection and price freeze, neither of which are offered by airlines. Other than dealing with customer service during cancellations, there’s not nearly as much benefit to booking direct with an airline, as there is/was with hotels.

  2. Is it good enough to blow a 5/24 spot? I have so many Chase cards already that I feel ready for something else but I am under 5/24
