TAP Portugal is a Star Alliance airline on a mission. With flat bed seats, a lovely connecting hub in Lisbon and one of the youngest long haul fleets in the skies, full of the newest seats, it’s a great way to travel.

In an almost unprecedented move, the airline is offering the same price in both directions, rather than just one, which means you can bag bargains across the Atlantic, whichever direction you plan to travel. Here’s a round up of the very best!

Note: this offer was initially set to expire on May 5th, but has been extended for a brief period, for near term travel in May and June. A few scattered dates exist beyond then, but if you’re ready to travel in the next couple months, lock in a bargain!

Sub $1000 Flat Bed Business Class To Europe (Or Vice Versa)

As part of Star Alliance, TAP Portugal flights can earn you miles with United, Singapore, ANA and other top loyalty programs, or the growing TAP Miles & Bonus program. Right now, there are amazing deals with round trip flat bed business class, and one stop or less for under $1000.

Wait for it…. EVEN IN PEAK SUMMER!

With news from Europe that the EU will welcome vaccinated Americans, and some countries accepting negative tests in place of vaccination, this summer is an amazing chance to experience Europe like the days of old, without millions of cruise tourists with their bum bags, aka fanny packs in America.

Don’t say that one in the UK, because you might get slapped.

The deals can be found at the very lowest prices from Boston and New York, with cities like London, Madrid and Barcelona all up for grabs under $1000 round trip from any of the US gateways. You’re searching for “Executive Class”.

Flat bed business class from West Coast to London under $1k, that’s a unicorn!

Miami and Chicago also enjoys sub $1000 fares to London, Lisbon, Barcelona or Madrid. Shockingly, even San Francisco to London, Madrid of Barcelona is also under $1000 round trip, and direct flights to Lisbon are just over, at $1150!

Any of these fares are also bookable in reverse at the same price!

Flight connections are mostly via Lisbon, and TAP offers an attractive program where you can simply fly through with a short connection, or stay a day, or up to 5 in Lisbon for no additional fare, before carrying on.

The Dates You Can Travel

Like I said, shockingly, these prices are available in peak summer. It’s about time airlines realized that there’s no glorious day where everyone stops caring about price just around the corner, and simply released the floodgates!

These deals are available through the end of September, but in almost every case, that’s where they end – and in most cases, the best availability ends in June. Shorter trips are possible, with most only requiring a 4 or 5 night stay in Europe to pull up the fabulous pricing.

How To Book

These fares are available directly with TAP Portugal, and you can find them all here. With greater potential for travel plans to change than usual, GSTP highly recommends booking direct, to avoid hassles of being passed between online travel agents, airline and any other grey areas.

If you have any flexibility, it will do you lots of good. It’ll also make the fares easier to find. On the TAP Portugal website, just tick “My Dates Are Flexible” and you’ll easily find the lowest fares.

Selecting flexible dates will help find the lowest Executive Class fares.

For example, many of the cheapest flights are only for departures on certain days of the week, like San Francisco where the lowest prices are generally only on Thursdays or Fridays. East Coast you can pretty much pick a day!

  1. You know guys, this info would be waaaay more helpful if you actually did the work all the way to the end. Case in point: the “epic” fare from SFO-LHR you just screenshot it here is anything but. If you had just clicked through it (as in actually go to the TAP website), you would have seen that the fare that starts as $988 ends up costing over $6000. So much for “epic”…

    1. I’d reply kindly, but you’re literally too lazy and dismissive to bother with. The fare… which I BOOKED PERSONALLY is available. Dates were limited, as with all fares, and most went in the morning. There are countless options under $1000 still. Next time you want to complain, do your due diligence.

  2. Just booked this using Chase points for 2 – from Ohare into Venice and out of Rome over the 4th of July holiday week. Maybe some risk in cancellation, covid restrictions, etc. We thought it was such a great deal we couldn’t pass it up. These are the kinds of deals we’ve been waiting for.

    1. Michael, awesome to hear. I agree. Some things you just gotta go for! Europe looks extremely promising this summer with vaccinations ramping up and it’s a rare time to experience travel without the masses! Enjoy the trip!

    1. It’s expected until 5th May, but availability isn’t necessarily guaranteed (aka, a few seats on each flight at these prices). Sooner to book the better.

  3. I’m finding that when I say my dates are flexible, it pulls up a matrix showing sub-$1000 flights. When I click on one of those boxes in the matrix, the prices are 2000-4000. Ugh, wish I’d jumped on this earlier.

    1. Hey Jonathan, Google can definitely lag with the results, so I’d try the flexible dates finder directly on TAP, as there may be some kicking around! All the best.

      1. Did that. The matrix on TAP shows availability, when I go to book the price skyrockets. Thanks for the heads-up, but responding to the offer 2 days after you posted it probably wasn’t a good idea on my part. Good deals go fast! Lesson learned.
