What Roger Federer is to tennis, Bono is to music – Daniel Boulud is to cooking. His restaurants have nearly as many Michelin stars as a beautiful summer night, and on one special summer evening, SPG and Marriott Rewards members received a “moment” of priceless access into his acclaimed, New York restaurant- ‘Daniel’. All you needed for this culinary journey was points. Marriott and Starwood Preferred Guest are offering intimate master classes and access to the world’s greatest luminaries and experiences in sport, entertainment, food and lifestyle and we took an inside look.

The event allowed behind the scenes access at his two (should be three) Michelin Starred New York restaurant, ‘Daniel‘, complete with: kitchen tour, master cooking class and the rare chance to make and present some of his most iconic dishes, under Daniel’s watchful eye! Just like on the cooking shows! Daniel himself, by the way- made the night. He was approachable, conversational and made all guests feel invited and fun. If you’re somehow not sold yet- it gets better: all of this was part of an incredible five course tasting menu with (very generous) wine pairings, retailing for more than $300 per person. Of course the retail price doesn’t get you the tricks of the trade or a selfie with Daniel either! Doing this on points: truly priceless

In the next few months alone, members can use points for: surfing lessons with Laird Hamilton, diving and exploration with Jean- Michel Cousteau, a cookout with Eric Ripert and some batting practices with New York Yankees (boo) world series champion Paul O’Neill. A complete collection of opportunities can be found here and here. Past events have also included Farnborough Airshow access with Qatar Airways, VIP concert and US Open tennis suites, golf lessons with PGA pros and so much more. And don’t forget: you can transfer your points instantly between Marriott and Starwood Preferred Guest, and you can even get points just for tweeting and being social! You can also earn a free hotel night after just two stays! Travel is a passion we all share and now you can use your travel rewards points to test out the passions which make each travel experience unique. These are much more than moments.
