Many airlines found ways to cut cost during the pandemic, including removing all the things which make first class, feel first “classy”. Not Lufthansa. Even during the most uncertain times, Lufthansa stuck with full service, including caviar, fine china, all the glassware and more.

Now, the airline is running an incredible companion fare from European cities to Johannesburg, bringing full fledged first class for £1400 per person. The only catch is you’ll need to book for two. With South Africa open to all visitors once again, it’s an amazing time to bag a bargain.

Lufthansa First Class Deals

Lufthansa First Class is a wonderful experience. If you can find a companion, you can currently depart from a few European cities for as little as £1400/€1500 per person for dates in 2021, even including March, which is a fabulous time to visit.

Our friends Premium-Flights found these deals, with the very lowest prices beginning in Tallinn, which is relatively easy to reach from most European capitals. For first class at a price most would be thrilled to fly business class for, it can be worth the effort. Oslo and Milan are the next lowest priced cities, and are a couple hundred more.

And South Africa! What needs to be said. It’s one of the greatest places for sun, fun, hiking, vineyard tours, surfing and absolutely extraordinary food. A little jump to Cape Town never hurts, nor does a safari with a quick jaunt from Johannesburg. And yes, it just reopened to ALL international visitors.

The Dates You Can Travel

These stunning deals must be booked by November 22nd, but dates are going fast. As you can expect with pricing like this, many dates are already gone. But when we looked today there were still lots of options from March onward.

You can travel up to October 31st, 2021 with these offers, and with vaccines expected by mid year next year, and for many people even before then, it could be a great time to get your long lost travels back. Particularly in first class.

How To Book

Did we mention these deals are scheduled to fly in Lufthansa’s 747-8i aircraft, in the nose of the 747? For #avgeeks, this is a great last call opportunity to enjoy first class before these larger four engine planes make their final push toward retirement. Even those these Lufthansa birds are relatively young, they don’t have all that long, as the airline moves to a more fuel efficient, two engine fleet.

These fares can be found on Google Flights only when searching for two passengers. We found the very lowest prices on Skyscanner. There’s still plenty of dates in Sept and October 2021, which is also a fabulous time to visit next year. You might not even need to wear a mask on the plane by then, but who knows?!

Here’s an example link from Tallinn of working dates. Be sure to play around, and look for trips of at least 7 days, like a Sunday to Sunday. If you want to depart from another city, just change the departure point.

  1. I have noticed same could be done for destination HKG (Hong Kong), again with best fares out of TLL (Tallin)
