So many travelers fail to realize that they may be eligible to earn not only frequent flyer miles when they travel, but also another type of airline loyalty perks. Even if you have a small business, which can technically mean running a household, airlines offer business loyalty programs that bring a different style of rewards that can include upgrades, free flights and more.

American Airlines has one of the more approachable programs of them all with Business Extra, and right now Business Extra members can earn 2X Points on select destinations in the USA, and all flights between the US and Europe…

Double Business Extra Offer

In case you’re not fully aware of Business Extra and how to get started, here’s a primer. If you are, and have an account or plan to make one ASAP, it’s worth registering for a new offer which launched yesteday, bringing 2X points on select US non-stop routes and all flights between the US and Europe on any joint venture partner (American, Iberia, Finnair, British Airways).

Here’s details for the offers, and yes, you can register for all of them…

  • 2X Business Extra Points between Austin and Boston, San Jose. Direct flights only for travel before September 30th.
  • 2X Business Extra Points between Boston and Indianapolis or Raleigh Durham. Direct flights only for travel before September 30th.
  • 2X Business Extra Points between North America and Europe. You must travel before April 30th on one of the four airlines to be eligible.

American Airlines A321 First ClassHow Business Extra Points Work

This isn’t the fastest way to a free flight or upgrade, but it’s a foolish one to miss out on. You earn 1 Business Extra Point for every $5 you spend with American or its joint venture partners, so if you were to spend $5000, you’d have 1,000 Business Extra Points. With this promo, $5,000 in spend on any of these promotional flights would give you 2,000 BXP.

A one way upgrade from economy to business class on American anywhere in their global network is 3,200 BXP Points, which is a great benefit to earn. Domestic one cabin upgrades in the USA are just 650 BXP Points, and you can also use them for American Airlines Gold Status and other perks.
