West Coast is the best coast…

There’s nothing quite like the West Coast. Redwood forests, wine country, glitz and glamour in Los Angeles and marvels like the Grand Canyon are just par for the course. If you haven’t been, you’ve got to go, and if you have been, you undoubtedly want to return.

Oneworld airlines British Airways, Finnair and American have just filed great new deals to cities all over the West Coast, with options including Vancouver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco all around £1225 or less. These deals wont’ last more than a day or two, and thanks to BA’s low deposit and flight hold options, there’s no reason not to browse – now…

Update: these deals (except for originating Budapest) have expired. Congrats to those who booked.

finnair_350The Oneworld Business Class Deals

With so many cities at play, the hardest part is frankly choosing where you want to go. Fortunately, open jaws work. For those that have no clue what an open jaw is, it’s where you fly to one city, and out of another. Like flying into San Francisco, but then flying out of Los Angeles. It allows you to drive Pacific Coast Highway or just book a separate flight in between.

The very best deals are from Amsterdam and are valid even during peak summer, when economy fares are nearly the same price and premium economy is more expensive. Few things make people more justifiably smug in life than knowing they paid less for business than those walking past did for economy. Don’t forget that Finnair flies an Airbus A350 from Helsinki to Los Angeles.

Amsterdam is incredibly accessible from any European city, and someone could use just 4,500 Avios to book a flight there to get into position for the deals. Budapest is your next best option with prices roughly £150 higher, but with wider availability. If you want UK deals, you’ll need to travel in 2020.

The Dates You Can Travel

These cracking deals are available at the lowest prices from June through the end of schedule in 2020, which means basically any trip you have planned in the next year can be booked at these great prices. If you want the lowest fares, you’ll need to jet off from Amsterdam between Monday and Thursday and stay for at least a week.

Don’t Forget To Upgrade To First Class

If you have Avios and book British Airways flights, you can upgrade from business to first class for roughly 20,000 points each way, provided that there’s upgrade space available. Here’s everything you need to know to find space, call and get your upgrade processed. Also, that’s key – call – don’t try to upgrade online. Do note: if you book BA flights via American, you can’t upgrade, and vice versa.

You can pull up these deals easily on Skyscanner, Google Flights or directly with the airline. We’ve made super easy t use Skyscanner links which take you directly to the lowest business class flight deal prices, like…

Don’t forget that if you book via British Airways you can use Avios Points to take some money off the flights, and if you make a custom trip by adding a car or hotel you can put down a deposit of £300 and pay over time, up to five weeks before departure. You really can’t go wrong.

Enjoy the trip!

Thanks to Michael Sears for passing on these awesome deals!

  1. Have noticed prices jumping up already – have booked return tickets for June, have an airport swap in London on the return – which is very handy. Thanks
