Even if you don’t care about perks, double miles means reaching rewards twice as fast.  For those that do care abotu perks, It’s at least twice as hard to earn elite status with any airline this year, given half the year is already gone and there’s hardly anywhere to go. Fortunately, Air France and KLM have an attactive bonus out for Air France/KLM FlyingBlue members to at least give it a shot, or move up a tier.

Air France/KLM made the decision early on to extend elite status for all FlyingBlue frequent flyers, but for those looking to jump up a tier, or have status extended for longer, there’s a great new 2X offer which doubles the qualifying points (XP) you earn to reach new tiers, while also giving double miles on all KLM and Air France flights.

KLM Business Class CabinDouble Miles With Air France and KLM

FlyingBlue is an excellent loyalty program, offering great deals like Promo Awards each month, which discount the number of miles you need, even in business class by up to 50% on certain routes. With already low numbers of miles needed for great flights, it’s a great look for those hoping to unlock a better cabin.

Now, all travelers who credit their flights to their FlyingBlue loyalty account can enjoy double miles on all flights through the end of 2020. Economy, premium, business and first class all count. That’s unlimited double miles on all your travel for the rest of the year, so long as the flights have Air France or KLM flight numbers – aka KL6005, or AF1001, etc. Flight numbers like DL0003, or VS0005 won’t be eligible.

Double XP Elite Status Points Too

XP is the system Air France/KLM Flying Blue uses to help you progress through the elite tiers from Silver to Gold to Platinum and beyond. In short: the longer the flight and more expensive your ticket, typically the better you do with earning more XP.

Now, whatever ticket you have, you can earn double what XP you usually would’ve. Going through the tiers twice as fast could help someone reach a higher level, like SkyTeam Elite Plus, which brings lounge access and fast track on all flights, even in economy. There’s a lot to love, but just note that you earn based on the original ticket you purchased, not any tickets you upgrade at the airport, etc.

The T&C’s To Make Sure You Do It Right

In short: you can earn as many miles and bonus XP elite status points as you like, and it even applies to flights you already booked prior to now. Nice touch! There’s no limit to the number of miles you can earn, or the XP, so this is a real opportunity for those who can or will travel this year.

If you’re not already an Air France/KLM Flying Blue Member, it’s free and you should register whether you plan to take advantage or not, just in case you end up on a flight with Air France or KLM. Oh and as to the promotion, you don’t need to register at all. It’s all automatically done.

Here’s the rest of the stuff to read through, directly on the Air France/KLM promo website
