Loyalty is hard these days. Dwindling benefits, devalued points and a whole slew of other issues have left many loyal customers with a distaste for their most frequently traveled travel brands. If you’re looking to increase your perks wherever you stay or whoever you fly, like free breakfast, airport lounge access, fast track, extra bags, late check out or business class check in, it may be time to take advantage of a status match, with Airberlin or Hilton…

The Airberlin Status Match…

Airberlin are back with a new status match, this time offering access to more flyers. If you’re currently a frequent flyer with any SkyTeam, Star Alliance or other non OneWorld airline you can submit your details for an equivalent match of loyalty status. You get to keep your current benefits and status while picking up benefits on a whole new network of 15 top airlines including Qatar, Cathay Pacific, Qantas, British Airways, Iberia, American airlines and more, in addition to those you currently have. If that’s not exciting enough, Airberlin is also part owned by Etihad, which means you’ll gain perks and benefits on Etihad flights as well…

How To Match: email statusmatch@topbonus.de with a copy of your current loyalty card and recent flight history, if any. A nice note about how much you enjoy the Airberlin product and OneWorld network never hurts either. The offer is available for those residing in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Netherlands, US, Denmark, Sweden, Norway or Finland, though many travelers have not been asked for proof. Be sure to request the highest tier, never hurts to ask!

The Hilton Status Match…

Hilton is out with a limited time offer to give you a taste of their elite status, with the potential to retain it through to 2018! Hilton will match ANY elite hotel loyalty status, and for top tier elites from other programs they will match to Hilton’s top “Diamond” offering. If you’d like to keep the handy status after your 90 day trial you need four (4) stays for Gold or eight (8) stays to retain Diamond. Even if you can’t retain the status after the 90 days, if coordinated with an upcoming stay it could mean significant benefits you wouldn’t have otherwise received.

How To Match: Hilton have made this one incredibly easy. There is a dedicated landing page for the status match offer where you can enter your details, upload your current loyalty card, proof that you’ve stayed at least one night in the last year somewhere and they’ll take it from there. Be sure to request the highest tier, never hurts to ask!
