Staying 10 nights in hotels is lofty work for many people, but 3 nights is a breeze. IHG Hotels offers an attractive loyalty program, and while IHG Gold won’t change your life – it certainly may lead to nicer hotel stays, with late check out and priority check in. Hey, even the occasional upgrade. There’s a fast track to Gold out there, so let’s get to it.

British Airways Executive Club members (anyone can instantly join) can register for a completely complimentary fast track to IHG Gold status. This works worldwide. IHG has great hotels such as Intercontinental, Kimpton, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inns, all around the world. IHG Gold puts travelers above the standard IHG tier, giving them priority for benefits and other hotel perks. Of course, if you stay at IHG frequently, you can just get their US or UK credit card, which comes with more lucrative Platinum status too.

IHG Gold doesn’t guarantee too many benefits other than late check out, priority check in and no expiration date for points. But – if anyone needs to get upgraded, Gold members will be upgraded over standard members, and hotels are known for nicely recognizing elite members in different ways. Basically – it’s a step up at the very least, but can be more. Those who take the offer will also get 500 British Airways Avios for joining IHG.

This fast track offer runs from December 1-31st and stays must be completed within 90 days of registration. All IHG properties are eligible, so this could be accomplished very inexpensively. The status is likely not worth booking rooms just for the sake of it – but if you have travel planned, it’s a great incentive to stay with IHG and earn perks for the new year. Enjoy!

  1. Even if you don’t stay at IHG hotels often, that unrestricted free annual night (and platinum status) more than justifies the $49 annual fee.
