Qatar Airways has been busy with its ‘Privilege Club’ loyalty program. What started as a relatively unexciting program, without many tangible perks is fast becoming a leader in the loyalty space. There’s even unique elements, like extra perks for students.

To get more people interested, there’s now also a fast track, which brings Qmiles, the miles you can redeem for free flights, and QPoints, which count towards earning elite status, just for signing up.

If a jump into the Oneworld alliance of airlines, or to a more rewarding loyalty program is imminent for you, or even just a consideration, this is a great way to get started. In a fast track offer you give up nothing, you just stand to gain, if you make it work.

When you register via the special offer, by entering the promo code: OALSMH121, you automatically receive 2,500 Qmiles. When you take your first Qatar Airways flight, you earn another 5,000 Qmiles and also 50 Qpoints towards elite status.

For reference, it takes 150 Qpoints to reach Qatar Silver, 300 to upgrade to Gold or 600 to upgrade to Platinum.

Lower Award Rates Using Points

Qatar Airways Privilege Club launched without much fanfare originally, because rates to use points for “free flights” were laughably high. Like, you needed to be a points and miles millionaire to even consider getting value.

In the last year, Qatar Airways majorly changed that, slashing those rates by as much as 50%, which means there’s real value to be had. One Mile At A Time has a nice little breakdown of best uses.

Sign Up For Qatar Airways Privilege Club

If you’re going to join a loyalty program (it’s free, of course) – it’s always best to do it when an extra incentive exists. Emirates is currently offering 2,020 miles for joining the Skywards program, which you can also do, but this is a more lucrative move.

Be sure to use the promotional code to ensure you earn your points and status credits when you sign up. Being able to earn points and credits across the Oneworld Alliance, including British Airways, American Airlines, Finnair, Iberia, Cathay Pacific, Qantas, JAL and many more, makes earning status relatively easy. A head start helps.
