No one likes a slow motion phone nightmare…

Like a slow motion nightmare, you can so easily picture the moment you watched your phone hit the pavement, submerge into the pool or slip out of your pocket in that taxi cab, you know, the one where you just couldn’t remember the license plate. Whatever the disastrous circumstance of your bereaved phone, and after that moment of anger and tears – you quickly realize you’re going to need a new one.

Thanks to research from The Short Final, it turns out there are some US credit cards that actually offer cell phone protection; so if you’re a notorious phone dropper, this may just the plastic you need to protect that “shatter proof” glass screen!

This card will offer you $600 per claim with a maximum of three claims per 12 month period (that’s a lot of phone breaking). Although it does come with a $100 deductible per claim.

Barclay’s Uber Visa Card

The Barclay’s Uber Visa card will get you $600 per claim, but with a maximum of only two claims in a 12 month period. And with only $25 deductible per claim that’s a pretty good deal.

Wells Fargo Consumer Credit Card

Again, $600 per claim, with a maximum of $1,200 in a 12 month period (that’s two breakages for anyone counting), and a solid $25 deductible per claim.

U.S. Bank Visa Platinum Card

This card will also offer $600 per claim with a maximum of $1,200 in a 12 month period and a deductible of $25.

First National Bank Business Edition Visa Card

The First National Bank Business Edition Visa Card will get you $600 per claim, but with only a $1000 maximum in a 12 month period. The deductible with this card is $50 per claim.

Find Out More About These Cards Here.

To make sure that you’re covered you will need to pay your phone bill using that specific card as a recurring payment, and or purchase your phone with that card. Be sure to confirm these details in advance. But for that one time, errr, second time you drop your phone down the toilet, some of these cards can definitely be worth it!
