New perks are always the bait of great credit cards, but that generally means a new application if you want to reap the rewards. Mastercard is changing that, with a new list of card benefits for just about everyone who already has a Mastercard. And yes, the benefits are worth knowing about.

Here’s all the new perks US Mastercard World and World Elite cardholders have to look forward to, from free two day shipping to savings on food delivery and travel benefits.

US Mastercard World & World Elite Perks

Regardless of which bank issued your US credit card, if your card has a Mastercard World or World Elite logo, you’ve got some new perks in the bag, in addition to what your bank already gives you. In other words, it doesn’t matter whether your card is from Bank Of America, Chase, Wells Fargo, Citi or another.

Banks control how many rewards points you earn, and any card specific benefits like earning a free hotel night, but there are benefits just for having a Mastercard credit card. Everyone with a US Mastercard World or World Elite credit card just picked up a bunch of new perks, including DoorDash, ShopRunner and Lyft.

Here’s how they all break down, and what they might add to your lifestyle…

Lyft x Mastercard Partnership

If you partake in ride shares from time to time, Mastercard has a new partnership with Uber competitor Lyft, where all World and World Elite ccardholders receive a $5 credit with Lyft after taking three rides in a calendar month. The $5 Lyft ride credit is applied automatically after 3 rides and can only be used once per month.

If maxed out, this would bring up to $60 of benefit per year ($5 per month, times 12) and that’s nothing to balk at, particularly if Lyft was part of your lifestyle anyway.

DoorDash x Mastercard Partnership

DoorDash has become a go-to US food delivery service in many major cities and an expanding number of suburban areas too. The service also tends to include higher end restaurants which opted out of other platforms.

Individual card perks directly from the bank that issued your card may be better, but all Mastercard World and World Elite cardholders now benefit from a complimentary 3 month ‘DashPass’ trial, if they’re a new subscriber, valued at $9.99 per month.

If you’re already subscribed, you receive a $5 discount on your first two order of the month over $12 when you pay with a World or World Elite Mastercard. Good look!

HelloFresh x Mastercard Partnership

Mastercard and Hello Fresh have partnered to offer 5% back on purchases made with the DIY food delivery giant. Unfortunately, the 5% comes back via future HelloFresh credit, which is great, but not quite as valuable as earning 5x with the points from a specific card.

This is a great chance to not only earn points via your credit card program, but an additional 5% rebate for future orders. If you earn a 5% rebate long enough, it can only be so long before a gratis order is upon you. If you haven’t signed up, there’s also a first order discount for Mastercard holders.

ShopRunner x Mastercard Partnership

Not to be outdone by competitor American Express, all US World and World Elite Mastercard holders are now eligible for complimentary ShopRunner service, which includes ‘free’ two day delivery from 100’s of online retailers and free returns.

A ShopRunner subscription publicly costs $79 per year, and this perk is now comp’d for Mastercard World and World Elite cardholders. That matches what’s offered by most Amex cards, and brings huge value, particularly to low, or no annual fee Mastercard credit cards, which now have $100’s in extra value.

Great Perks For Nothing: Mastercard Win

Mastercard took a hit during the pandemic as Visa and American Express earned an outsized share of pandemic spending, but is now bouncing back in a major way. These newly announced perks bring substantial value to cardholders and give banks a strong reason to choose Mastercard as the underlying card for their next offering.

If you’ve got a World or World Elite US credit card, enjoy the new perks! You can check out the full details and information on how to take advantage of the new offers on the Mastercard website.
