It’s great to see a loyalty program rewarding brand enthusiasts in tandem with any efforts to attract new business. Too often it’s only about bringing new life into a program, and not about rewarding people who already engage.
A free night after just two stays is very attractive, and if the free nights are deposited at points, even better. The free night for Intercontinental, Regent or Kimpton makes the Ambassador program (read up here) a really useful offer.
IHG program (even with the $200. Ambassador status) is a useless NO GO program for most frequent travellers i know. my colleagues and I never stay at IHG except if nothing else available.
The comp breakfast for 2 , comp upgrade and lounge access at marriots and hiltons with high level status is worth 100+ per night minimum. why would anyone even consider IHG??
