China Southern offers Boeing 787 Business Class with fully flat beds between the UK and China, and at the moment they’re on super sale. How low? As you may have suspected, £1295 round trip. These deals can earn miles on a variety of SkySteam airlines and other partners, including 100% of the miles flown (or better) on: American Airlines, Delta, Air France/KLM Flying Blue and more and have just one stop in each direction.

If you prefer Oneworld, and would like flat beds on the Airbus A350, you’ll need to pay £1665 with Finnair for a similar one stop trip, via Helsinki. This is definitely a better in flight experience, and great for any UK readers in search of British Airways Tier Points. It’s worth noting that Edinburgh to Hong Kong is also available for £1500 with Finnair.

The Dates You Can Travel

Each flight offer is different, so let’s address both. The lowest prices on China Southern are available on select days in August and almost any day in September, before hiking up about £150 for the rest of the year.

The Finnair Shanghai prices are available for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday departures from August through November 2019. A Saturday stay is all that’s required, so even short trips work.

Hong Kong deals on Finnair from Edinburgh are available on select dates in September and October during the early part of the week, but then absolutely wide open on virtually any day in November.
