Happy Friday everyone! I’m turning 30 tomorrow in the best way possible, speaking about travel in a place that’s not home! I’ll be in Seattle for the weekend speaking at FTU and then Laura and I will head to Vancouver for a couple days of relaxation and a couple days in LA for some sunshine. Posts may range from useless to very useful during that time. No guarantees. Thanks to each and every one of you that read for making me so excited to turn 30. Enough about me though, there’s stuff to talk about…

Emirates New A380 Bar Looks Absolutely Gorgeous…

Emirates has revealed a mock up of their new A380 bar, which is funny timing since I ranked them below their two ME3 (Qatar, Etihad) competitors yesterday. The new bar could instantly leapfrog them to the top, with the looks of a private jet and seating areas more conducive to socializing. I for one cannot wait to check it out. Just take a look

Hilton Launching New Points + Money Option…

Hilton is launching a new way to use points, which could be beneficial for many. You have more customization in how many points you’d like to use, via a nifty slider, but most importantly you may pay less miles than before for the same properties. They’ve “updated” their chart so that the price in points will be more dynamically aligned with cash prices. Essentially, during peak months you’ll pay the same old peak prices, but during off peak stays you may be able to use less points per night. Full details here.

10X Cash Back At Restaurants With Amex Card Offer…

If you could use $300 or $350 in cash back, which you can use for any purchase, like an amazing dinner out while traveling, the Amex Blue or Blue Preferred (US only) cards may be just the thing for you. They are currently offering 10x points on dining for the first six months of card membership, up to $200. You’ll also get at least $100 cash back bonus for spending $500 on the free card within 6 months, or $150 (I was actually targeted for $250) on their “Blue Preferred” card with a $95 annual fee. Check out the cards (we don’t receive commission).
