The Qatar Airways Qsuite is inherently exciting. It’s business class with dine on demand and a privacy door, which makes it feel pretty “first class”. Tokyo is Tokyo, the place everyone dreams of visiting, and that only makes the splurge feel more worthwhile. But there’s more. Qatar deals can bring benefits long after you fly, and that’s why these £1300 (€1600) deals are oh-so-compelling.

They put you within an arms reach of Oneworld Sapphire status for a year…

Nope, we’re not talking about Oslo or Stockholm, Qatar has shifted an incredible sale to Vienna and Frankfurt, two of the easiest to reach European cities from any gateway. If you have miles, you can probably get there for next to free, and at these prices – that’s worth considering.

You’ll find Qatar Airways stunning Qsuite the entire way, and the lovely A350-1000 Qsuite between Doha and Tokyo Haneda. Here’s a review.

As noted, these deals are fabulous on their own, netting around 20,000 miles with most airline programs, but if you are a British Airways flyer, or someone looking for lounge access whenever they fly a Oneworld airline, these deals go deeper.

They get you to 560 tier points if you credit them to British Airways Executive Club, just 40 tier points and 4 British Airways segments short of “Silver” Executive Club status. That means two round trips in Europe, or further if you like (anything but basic fare), would secure you British Airways Silver, which is Oneworld Sapphire, which gets you lounge access on all Oneworld airlines, even when you’re in economy – for a year!

That’s quite a rebate.

These super hot deals are available on scattered dates in April (12, 29, 30), most of late May (11-30), a few dates in mid June (9, 15, 16, 17), early July (2-9), and then wide open from August 18th through into 2021, including early January!

Qatar makes it incredibly easy to find the lowest fares, since any search you do will bring up 7 days, so you can see if any dates immediately before or after yours are cheaper, and aim for those. A four night stay in Japan is all that’s required, and longer trips are totally fine.

Flash sales like this come and go, but from Germany or Austria they’re extraordinarily rare at these rates. Plus, Vienna or Frankfurt make fantastic cities to explore for a night, if you wanted to make it a two in one trip. Here’s a 48 hour guide to Vienna!

We recommend searching for these deals directly with Qatar Airways here.

You’ll have the easiest time searching for availability and will have the best info about what each plane will bring and all the fare rules, cancellation policies and so forth. You can also find these offers on Skyscanner or Kayak and we’ve made example itineraries on both links.

You’re undoubtedly now headed to Tokyo, so here’s why splurging on that big sushi experience is totally worth it, a cool way to have a meal with locals, and 11 things to do on your trip that will make you fall in love with the city – and want to come back again. It’s only natural…
