Let’s be honest – we’re all super lazy, but we can blame the internet and apps for that. It’s just too easy to order food on your phone and have a kind delivery person bring it to your door mere minutes later. Last week, Chase announced changes to the $550 a year Sapphire Reserve credit card, but today the bank has unveiled a really positive change to the Chase Sapphire Preferred card as well, with a one year DoorDash pass, worth $9.99 a month…

DoorDash

DoorDash is a food delivery service which partners with restaurants all of the USA, and probably where you are, to collect and deliver food for you. Over 300,000 restaurants are on the platform. The app offers a monthly $9.99 “DashPass” subscription which offers fee free delivery on all food orders of $12, and as of today, that’s a new benefit of the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card.

The card benefit also applies to your authorized users, so have them thank you later.

How To Set Up The Chase x DoorDash Membership

Setting up DoorDash and getting your complimentary DashPass subscription is rather easy, and should only take a couple minutes. Simply download and register for DoorDash if you haven’t already, and then add your Chase Sapphire Preferred card to saved payment methods. Note: if you add it as Apple Pay, or Google Pay, it wont’ work. You need to add the actual card info.

When you do, you’ll be prompted to activate your DoorDash “DashPass” membership, which will last at least a year. We say “at least” because it’s unclear if Chase will renew. Hot tip: don’t activate or link your card until you actually plan to use the benefit – aka order food – otherwise you’ll shorten the time you enjoy it…

2X On DoorDash Too

In addition to the free $9.99 monthly subscription, the Chase Sapphire Preferred will also earn 2X points on DoorDash, bringing it in line with what you’d typically earn for eating out at an actual restaurant. Sweatpants, Netflix and 2X points it is…

Chase Sapphire Preferred

With a current 60,000 point welcome bonus and a $95 annual fee, the Chase Sapphire Preferred is definitely looking better after these changes. The card offers 2X on travel, 2X on dining and now 2X on being incredibly lazy and having someone bring the dining to you. Solid.
