7 minutes between JFK and the east or west side of Manhattan?

To anyone who’s endured rush hour New York traffic, paying a fortune in cash and mental stamina, that sounds like a dream. Blade, the urban air mobility company has made that a reality which for $195 (or $145 after a promo code) isn’t far off Uber Black pricing.

And now JetBlue is taking a bold leap, bringing special access to frequent flyers of the TrueBlue program, with discounts and free rides on Blade. If you’re a JetBlue flyer in New York, or someone who jets in from time to time, it’s a good day.

JetBlue x Blade Partnership

JetBlue is investing in its frequent flyers, offering discounts and free rides on Blade. If you’re flying in or out of New York with JetBlue, good times may be ahead. I’ve flown and reviewed Blade before, and I’m a huge fan.

“Coming soon, TrueBlue and Mosaic members will receive 10% and 25%, respectively, off their first-ever BLADE Airport flight, while Mosaic+ members will receive up to 4 free BLADE Airport seats when connecting to or from JetBlue flights. Mosaic+ members will also receive complimentary BLADE Flex upgrades, waiving cancellation and change fees up to 1 hour prior to departure.”

New Yorkers know all too well that traffic is worse now, than ever. The global health crisis lead to more people commuting in private vehicles than ever, despite work from home. Typical New York road work and construction isn’t making matters any better.

Being able to swap a 1-2 hour ride for 5 minutes in the air, and just a few minutes on either side is as useful as it is fun and aspirational. If you happen to be living, staying or working near the East or West 30’s in Manhattan it’s even better.

“We know the JetBlue journey starts long before our customers step aboard one of our flights, which is why we are making more of the entire travel experience even easier and even more rewarding,”

Chris Buckner, VP Loyalty & Partnerships at JetBlue

More details will surely follow, but this is a great bit of news for JetBlue flyers all over the world. It’s arguably one of the most compelling loyalty perks to date, in a wildly competitive New York market.
