Sometimes all you need is a lucky bounce, and for many, that bounce has just landed. American Airlines, one of the best frequent flyer programs in the world, is offering 25,000 bonus miles for every business class flight between the US, Canada and Europe on American, British Airways, Finnair or Iberia through July 31st.

So, First Question, What If I’ve Already Booked?

Perhaps the best news is that this is NOT exclusive to new bookings. If you have any pre existing bookings originating from the US or UK going in either direction with American, British Airways, Iberia or Finnair, you’ll earn 12,500 miles for each one way and25,000 miles for a round trip up to two times, for a peak total of 50,000 miles during the travel period from May 9-July 31st.

How Do I Register?

You can register for the promotion by signing into your American AAdvantage account HERE. If you do not already have one, simply sign up for one and then follow the previous link to visit the registration page.

What If I Use A Different Loyalty Program?

This is where you’ll have to do your own calculation. If you are seeking status with another airline (other than American), you’ll miss the opportunity to earn miles or status with another airline IF you use your American Airlines frequent flyer number for these flights and receive the bonus. If however you’ve made status with another airline, would like status or miles on American, this is a best case scenario.

Why Are American Airlines Miles Valuable?

American Airlines AADvantage miles are particularly valuable because they offer excellent rates on top carriers like Cathay Pacific, Japan Airlines and Qantas, as well as surcharge free options using miles to Europe. You can use just 57,500 miles and $5.60 to fly from the US to Europe in business class, and just 60,000 one way in business class from the US to Australia.
