I’ll gladly swap a middle seat for a bed on a plane. The problem is that usually you’ll need to spend somewhere around 5-10x the money and that’s just not reasonable. When you can spend less than 2x, for the pleasure of enjoying flat beds, lounges, all the champagne you can hold down and earn 25,000 bonus miles in the process, why not?!

The Deal

The deals aren’t quite as low as last year, but you can fly round trip business class from many departure points in the US, with the lowest fares from Boston, New York and Miami to London, Athens, Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester coming in at $1659 after easily stacking two discounts. You can find some decent prices from Los Angeles, San Jose, San Francisco, Chicago and Dallas, but they’ll be a bit higher. First Class is on sale too and you can even snag that for $2100 after applying the same easy discounts.

The Dates

The deal is available from June 20, 2016 to March 27, 2017, with lowest prices available from November 22-29, December 18-January 2nd and then just slightly higher for all other dates in that range.

How To Make The Deal Work

Off the rack prices for this deal start at $2037. You can do much better with three EASY steps….

First, you’ll need to sign up for an AARP membership, it really is open to everyone of all ages after their rebranding. It’s $13, money well spent if you’re definitely taking one of these deals since it will INSTANTLY save you $400 per ticket.

Second, login to your new AARP.org account, go to member benefits, travel benefits, air and rail benefits and then click over to British Airways. There you will be presented with instantly discounted rates, reflecting $400 off per ticket.

Third, to get this price down even further, use a Visa card, and enter CARDOFFERU in the promotional code bit at check out to knock an additional 10% off the entire ticket price.

Fourth, if you don’t have a Visa, or even if you do, you can use 30,000 British Airways miles (which you can instantly create from Amex or Chase) to knock an additional $450 off!

What About The 25,000 Bonus Miles?

So you’ll earn at least 10,000 miles per person on any of these itineraries anyway, but if you’re traveling before July 31st, you can also easily earn a 25,000 bonus per person on top of that by registering for a public bonus opportunity with American Airlines! To clarify, you can always earn miles on the partners of the airline you’re actually flying, not just the airline you’re flying itself. Therefore, if you enter an American Airlines frequent flyer number, after registering for the bonus HERE, you’ll earn about 35,000 miles per person for these flights…
