More points, more miles, more upgrades and less miles for some great flights. The luck keeps on rolling, and I’ll keep rolling it out to you. One day at a time, thousands of miles at a time. Here are the most important developments in the travel world today, and probably tomorrow too…

5,000 For Joining United Dining Program + Dining…

Dining programs are one of the easiest ways to earn miles just for doing normal things like eating dinner. Essentially, you sign up to an airline dining program for free, link your credit or debit card, and every time you dine out at one of thousands of restaurants, you earn miles from the program and for the purchase. United is giving instant VIP status (5 miles per dollar spent) for new sign ups and 2,000 miles after the first $35 dining experience. After that you can claim an additional 1,000 bonus miles for every $100 spent, up to three times. Basically you can get 5,000 miles just for taking your husband, wife, partner, friend to dinner, you can even split the check! Join HERE.

Double Hilton Points Promotion…

Hotel promotions are incredibly competitive. As we enter peak travel season, encouragement in the form of bonus points, discounts or benefits can be the difference in staying with one hotel brand versus the other. With that in mind, Hilton are offering double points on all stays at all hotels to anyone who registers, for stays up to August 31st 2016. This mean’s you’ll earn an additional minimum of ten points per dollar spent, which can be quite lucrative. Best part? It’s not capped, so if you’re going to be visiting quite a few mattresses in the next few months, you can earn unlimited double points. Register HERE.

Delta Finally Prioritizes Loyalty For Upgrades…

ViewFromTheWing points out that starting tomorrow, Delta will get rid of one of the most egregious policies in frequent flyer land, leaving United alone as the only airline who values money over loyalty. In simplest form, Delta’s upgrades for the last year or so have been based on ticket class, then elite status and then other tie breakers. SO, if you were a lowly bottom tier elite, but were on an expensive ticket, you got the upgrade over a million mile, top tier flyer. Ridiculous, I know. Anyway, that’s changing and now elite status is again the first upgrade determinant. Good news!

Last Chance For CHEAP Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) Points…

If you pay attention to this site, you know that SPG points are amongst the most valuable in the world. Position A is obviously to earn tons of their points from every day spending and for staying in hotels that your boss (or at least your company) pays for. Minus that, if you want to top off miles, instantly having enough for a round trip flight in business class, or a one way in First Class, or many short economy flights. Ok, even hotel stays too, you could consider buying Starpoints at a 25% discount, which ends today. For $797 you can buy 30,000 points which can be transferred into 35,000 miles with almost any airline. It’s not for everyone, but there are some situations where this is brilliant. Buy HERE.
