15,000 points for a bed on a plane? Deal!

One of the very best regularly scheduled deal in travel is the Singapore Air “Spontaneous Escapes” promotion. Each month, like clockwork, the airline launches a set of discounted points deals, which offer flights in economy and business class for fewer points than usual. The discount is usually around 30%, which is awesome, but for a limited time that discount is up to 50% off and includes Singapore Business Class routes in Europe, Australia, Asia and the Americas. It’s probably the best deal out right now, so here’s how to make the most of it…

Easy Points To Make

Never flown Singapore? No problem. You can almost instantly convert Amex, Citi, Chase, Capital One (learn more) or Marriott Points into Singapore Air KrisFlyer miles, which makes them some of the very easiest points to burn. At these rates, that’s probably an excellent idea too. Of course if you already have Singapore Air miles, it’s even easier! You just need to figure out which one (or all) of these deals to use!

The Best Singapore Offers

These deals must be booked by February 28th. The big catch here: they are for travel in March, and March only. If you can work in a spontaneous getaway (hence the name), then you can save tons of points and enjoy the superb luxury of Singapore business class. The best deals we found include…

  • 38,000 points one way business class from Rome or Barcelona to Singapore.
  • 28,000 points one way business class between Melbourne or Sydney and Singapore.
  • 28,000 points one way business class between Auckland and Singapore.
  • 20,000 points one way business class between Singapore and Perth.
  • 18,500 points one way business class between Singapore and Mumbai or Delhi.
  • 25,000 points one way business class between Seoul and Singapore.
  • 15,000 points one way business class between Hong Kong and Singapore.

If you already have a trip planned to Southeast Asia, or even if you don’t, these promo offers are an amazing way to explore further without breaking the bank. Being able to get from amazing North Asian cities like Seoul for 25,000 points is awesome, and so is extending a trip all the way down to Australia for 28,000 points one way, in total A380 business class comfort!

business classHuge Trip Potential

If you read between the lines, you can piece these deals together to create incredible combos like 66,000 points from Europe to Australia with a stopover in Singapore. That’d simply mean using the 38k points option from Rome or Barcelona, then booking a separate redemption from Singapore on down to Australia. The more you play, the more you win!

How To Actually Book

When you search on the Singapore KrisFlyer website, the standard (2x higher) prices will appear, but once you click and select a flight, the total will automatically reduce. The discount just won’t appear until you actually select a flight and click through. The promotional page can be found here.

You need to create a Singapore KrisFlyer loyalty account to take advantage, if you haven’t already! It’s free, btw. Remember, you can travel March 1-31st, and that’s it. You must book before February 28th, but we’d get to it well before then, because availability is limited on each flight. But fear not, the next promo will be along next month if that doesn’t work for you, it just may not be as juicy.
