And there’s no limit to how much you can earn…

The exciting end of the rewards credit card market has long been dominated by Amex, Chase and Citi, but Capital One is now making one serious stand. The Virginia based brand is launching new card benefits left and right, including TSA PreCheck credit for the popular Venture Rewards Card. In the latest move, Capital One is attempting a takeover of the dining and entertainment rewards scene, with “Savor”, the new card bringing 4x points, and other spending bonuses too…

Spending Bonus Categories

The new “Savor” card comes in an no annual fee, and $95 annual fee version, with the first year fee waived. The Capital One Savor ($95 annual fee, waived first year) offers 4x points on dining and entertainment, 2x points on grocery and 1% on everything else. By dining, the card means everything from cafe’s where you grab your coffee to Michelin starred bistros. For entertainment, this is a generous category including travel incidentals like travel tours, movie tickets, sporting events and more. If you need a card to entertain clients, or just your family, this is the strongest strictly cash back earning card for dining and entertainment on the market. The SavorOne card offers a very similar proposition, with no annual fee and 3x on dining and entertainment, 2x on groceries and 1x on everything else. Each card also promise access to exclusive culinary and entertainment events.

Welcome Bonus Offers

Both cards carry welcome bonuses, which is nice. The no annual fee SavorOne offers a $150 cash back bonus after spending $500 within the first 3 months of card membership. The $95, but waived first year annual fee Savor card offers a lucrative $500 bonus for $3000 in spending within the first 90 days of card membership. Getting $500 worth of cash back for reasonable spending, with the annual fee waived, AND 4x points on a ton of categories is very attractive, as is $150 for nothing – essentially, with the SavorOne card. For people who prefer cash back to travel rewards, these cards are instantly amongst the most rewarding in the business. There’s just not a lot to argue with here…
