The only question is: Why isn’t home this good? No waiters? No chefs? The Qatar Airways Al Mourjan Business Class Lounge is everything you could ask for from a business class lounge and even then, it’s so much more. Exclusive to business class passengers (nope, elite status won’t get you in) it’s kept in pristine condition with immense offerings. Take a look for yourself in 360°’s…

The Space

After a warm greeting, the first thought when entering Al Mourjan is “wow, this is actually massive”. The lounge is quite possibly the largest space I’ve ever seen dedicated to just one cabin of passengers and features something for everyone. Truly, we’ll get to that.

Throughout the ground floor you’ll find quiet sitting areas away from the busier eating space where passengers can unwind in some of the more secluded chairs or just plonk into one of the nifty space aged blue chairs, complete with iPad.

Alternately you can head up the “stairway to heaven”, which leads to the primary dining and bar offerings in Al Mourjan. You’ll find two separate buffets with hot meal service to fit all appetites with cuisines ranging from regional to international, as well as a ridiculously extensive dessert selection for anyone with a sweet tooth. And yes, there’s a top notch bar too…

Perhaps the greatest challenge with the upstairs eating and bar area is it’s very difficult to find an excuse worth leaving for. The chairs are comfy, waiters will kindly bring you drinks, the buffet changes regularly and once you’ve stuffed yourself it’s not easy to get back up. However, there are quiet a few more reasons to actually make the journey back downstairs…

If you’re in need of some peace and quiet there are “family rooms” which are essentially private cabanas complete with television and discrete waiter service. Solo travelers may have difficulty securing them but any pair traveling together should never find issue. It’s also near a downstairs food area with more a la carte offerings and yet another excellent bar. Speaking of which, they do an epic mojito.

And because you should never grow up, there’s even a game room. Whether you’re a foosballer or video gamer the room should keep you amused until your next cocktail arrives. You may even find some nifty F1 relics and other memorabilia laying around.

Since we’re talking about a “business” class lounge, it’s only appropriate to also highlight the business offerings. Directly across from the (massive) entrance hall you’ll find extensive, highly capable business centers with computers, printers and other services along with restrooms and further areas to rejuvenate.
