Finally, Americans can learn about the guy with the beard from their Urban Outfitters t shirts. For the first time since people listened to records, US citizens can visit Cuba and to kick off the festivities, there are some amazing flight deals. Just bring an extra suitcase for all the rum and cigars (which you can now legally take home)…

The Deal

American Airlines are jumping into the party early, with one of the first approved routes for service to Cuba. In this deal you can fly from Boston, New York, DC, Miami or even Chicago to Cienfuegos, Cuba for just $262 round trip, with a connection or stopover in Miami on the way!

The Dates

The route kicks off in September and they want people on it! For that reason, these deals are available almost any day from September 2016 to October 2016. Simply visit American Airlines website and enter some dates, looking for the $262 price.

Booking direct is almost always the best thing to do, ensuring easier customer service dealings, full mileage earning and other important travel conveniences. Fortunately, this fare is found directly on American Airlines website HERE. You’ll have to select one of 12 valid reasons for a visit, which are quite relaxed now and can be as simple as taking photos. More on that below…

Are There Any Restrictions For Travelers?

Technically tourism isn’t legit in Cuba yet, but there are quite a few ways people have gotten around this with ease. “People to people” visits, also known as just experiencing other cultures is a valid reason. So is journalism (start a blog? or instagram account?) and many other reasons listed here. To the best of my knowledge these are very loosely enforced. Get information from a professional, but we know many people who have happily and successfully visited.
