For those of us in the northern hemisphere temperatures are dropping. For those in the hotel industry things are reaching a fever pitch. Just this week Hilton announced exclusive rates for members and in a matter of hours, Starwood hotels followed suit. There’s even talks of Starwood being purchased by a competing chain. It’s chaos! Anyway, trying to box their weight, IHG have thrown out a lucrative promotion….

Here’s the fine print: make two separate stays and receive a free night anywhere. Do it twice more, get another one! That’s pretty much it. There is an “IHG Accelerate” promotion for new members, or anyone who just wants to create a free second account where you will receive a free night certificate for virtually any IHG property, some of which fetch many hundreds per night, after two separate stays at virtually any IHG property. Essentially, if you want to check in to your local cheap hotel, or check in and out twice of whatever hotel on your next vacation, you can earn a free night at a high end property of your choosing such as the Intercontinental Park Lane in London which regularly fetches £350 per night. If you are planning a trip or need a mini break this is a huge opportunity if you know how to use it. If you’re going somewhere already, simply check in and out twice, even if just for one night, two times. You’ll earn a free night. If you have a dreamy expensive vacation in mind, perhaps look for a dirt cheap rate at a local low end IHG hotel where rates can be found as low as $50 per night.  Spending $100 or so dollars (and still sleeping at home ; ) to score a room worth $500 a night is a no brainer.

Of course this isn’t for everyone but for those on the move it’s opportunity. I love opportunity, I love free sh*t even more. As I mentioned, though you would forgo any elite benefits on the stays, even a previously registered member of IHG can create a second (new) account so that they are targeted for the promotion, which seems open only to new members. Use this link and lock it in if it represents savings or opportunity to experience a top notch property for you.
