People spend hundred on concert tickets to have their minds melted by light shows (and drugs). I’ll tell you what melts my brain: dealing with over 3,000 flights per day in metropolitan London airspace. Jesus. You have everything from Airbus A380’s to mom and pop Cessna’s all with differing start and end points, speeds and capabilities. If running some of the world’s busiest airspace doesn’t deserve a prize, this mind blowing visualization of daily London air traffic certainly does….
Let’s just say air traffic controllers are badass. There is no margin for error and there is no such thing as an off day. When you imagine all of the simultaneous traffic vectoring to London’s five main airports it’s a remarkable feat to land all of these plans. When you consider that the French are on strike half the time, it’s an even more miraculous feat. I can’t give enough credit to the production value, sequencing and pleasant sound effects that make this video a remarkable piece of aviation intrigue. Thanks NATS, I’ll see ya soon and would love some direct vectoring ; ) Cleared to land.
