Good morning, good news, great offers. As summer sets its sights on us we are seeing increased competition and movement from airlines, aggressive hotel bonuses and even some new routes, bringing great competition to key travel markets. Here are the most important stories of the day…

Norwegian Airlines Launching London to Oakland (San Francisco)…

For those that don’t know, flying into Oakland is virtually the same as flying into San Francisco, separated by just about 15 minutes to central San Francisco. Norwegian today announced plans to launch a direct flight between London and Oakland, offering a cost effective means of travel to Northern California, which will certainly lower prices for the better. The route will be serviced every Monday, Thursday and Sunday, with introductory fares starting at just £159 ($225) one way! Enjoy.

In their newest promotion, you’ll earn 10,000 points for staying up to four nights, 30,000 for six, 60,000 for eight and a whopping 100,000 points for staying ten nights between now and September 30th 2016. All you need to do is register HERE if you have an account and book. If you don’t have a free account, create one and then register. Easy. I always recommend booking direct to ensure you get points and benefits.

Delta Domestic Award Seat Using Miles Sale…

If you ask me, 25,000 miles for most domestic flights is very steep. It should be less on shorter routes, and perhaps 25,000 at most on transcontinental flights in the US. Delta seems to temporarily agree, offering discounted rates using miles on many flights, some as low as 5,000 miles one way. Like most Delta related activity, which flights, to where and when are a bit of a puzzle with only some of the working options listed publicly HERE. Short flights can be had for as low as 5,000 miles one way, with many options in the 7,500 range. If you search for flights using miles on Delta.com by clicking “show price in miles”. You must book by June 7 and you must travel between August 23 and November 16th of 2016.
