25% Off Business Class USING MILES, British Airways Axes LONDON CITY, Delta DEVALUES Miles AGAIN...

Like a weather forecast, we've got some great news, some good news and of course some bad news. If there's any advice that's universally sound in the points and miles world, it's to earn and burn. Rates change, opportunities pass and the best thing to do is maximize what you've got, while it's hot. Here are the most important stories in travel today...

Delta Pulls (Another) No Notice Devaluation Using Miles...

Delta has become the evil empire of points and miles. Unlike other airlines who have a modicum of hope for transparency and trust between them and their mileage holders and loyal flyers, Delta enjoys dropping the hammer on people when they least expect it. The newest example is their unannounced move to raise rates for flights between the US and Europe in business class from 62,500 at the lowest level each way to 70,000. That's a 140,000 mile round trip...

25% Off Business Class Between Many North American Cities And Europe...

One of the best values in the points world comes from the Air France/KLM Flying Blue frequent flyer program. The reason behind this is their monthly (1st of the month) "Promo Awards", which discount the number of miles needed between two cities or regions. It's not uncommon to find many attractive cities priced at 25-50% off the usual miles required. Go have a look around to see if there are any regions/cities which work for your travel plans. You can transfer Amex points, Citi Points and Chase points into their program!

Follow Our Trip On Instagram + Facebook (Sorry, I Don't SnapChat)...

I find social media exhausting. It's hard enough creating actually valuable posts, let alone trying to then share it to seventy different channels. Regardless, I've become a fan of Instagram and I enjoy uploading photos and experiences to Facebook. Over the next two weeks, posts will be somewhat scarce as we fly 25,000+ miles in 17 days. If you want to follow along and see the best first class cabins in the world, amazing views, hotel rooms and all that as well as chat, follow us on Instagram (link HERE), Facebook (link HERE) and Twitter (link HERE).

British Airways Axing One London City All Business Class Flight...

British Airways "Club World London City", my wife's favorite way to travel between the UK and the US (and one of mine too) is seeing a major cut, axing one of the two daily round trips as of October 29th. The BA3/BA4 flights are being cancelled because they no longer offer the competitive advantage of the morning flights, which allows you to clear immigration at a short refueling stop in Shannon, Ireland. If you've wanted to give it a whirl, you'll have to shoot for BA1/BA2 or grab a last minute seat (which are frequently available) using miles before October 29th. We've reviewed it HERE.

Free Uber Rides For Open Skies Business Passengers...

We've thoroughly enjoyed the boutique experience and service on board Open Skies, the boutique affiliate of British Airways. The service is unique because it arrives into Paris Orly, a much more convenient airport to the city of Paris and also helps to avoid much of the chaos that is Charles De Gaulle airport. They're (actually) enhancing the service with two $70 uber credits per round trip, effectively giving you chauffeur service. Nice touch
