Greetings from Indian Wells, California where I'm currently (stuck) and enjoying the amazing tennis tournament out here. After spending quite a few consecutive weeks in hotels it occurred to me this morning that we haven't once turned the television on and I've stubbed my toe twice. These issues aren't new at hotels, but I have a feeling many of you are in the same boat.

I Wish More Hotels Offered Netflix...

No, it's not that we've been exploring nonstop (only semi nonstop) or are neat intellectuals who don't watch television, it's just that it's not "our television" AKA Netflix. I wish more properties would upgrade to smart TV's, allowing guests to either stream Netflix to the hotel TV from their device or login to their Netflix/Hulu account on the remote. The TV would be on constantly, as opposed to now where it's a rectangular space saver. I've heard some hotels have even considered removing televisions down the line, since many never use it. Maybe just get Netflix instead...

Floor Lighting In Rooms At Night Would Be Great...

There are fixes both cheap and expensive which could accomplish this. Motion activated night lights that illuminate the floor area, guiding guests safely to their bathroom would be immense. In lieu of that, easy access low level light switches at the bedside would be fantastic. We're not reinventing the wheel here, just helping people navigate unfamiliar spaces, which are undoubtedly lined with luggage, shoes, chairs and whatever else. After stubbing my toe while weaving around the corners to the bathroom twice in just the last two days, amongst countless other days, this is now more important than ever, naturally.
