US To CUBA Flights Now Bookable, Cheapest EVER American Airlines Miles, New Direct Glasgow Flight...

In the world of travel there's always a player looking for an edge. Today we see one group of airlines gain an edge with new route approval, one airline gain a little extra revenue, selling miles at record low prices and a new direct flight to Scotland. Here are the most important stories in travel today...

You Can Now Book Flights From The US To Cuba...

Viva la beginning of turning Cuba into yet another American theme park. Six airlines received approval for their proposed Cuban routes and American Airlines is the first to publish their schedule and open up for online bookings. Bookings are available from September 6th on, for travel from Miami to quite a few cities including Varadero, Cienfuegos, Holguin and Santa Clara, sadly, no Havana yet. Head to American Airlines website to book.

Cheapest Ever American Airlines Miles...

American Airlines is having (yet) another mileage sale. My opinion on mileage sales is that unless you have a specific use in mind where the cost to buy the miles is less than the cost to buy the ticket, or you just need a few miles to top off for something, it's a bad idea. To get the best price ever you'll need to max out the promotion, which is pricey. If you have something perfect lined up, give it a whirl, if not, earn miles with your spending and your flying. Delta Launches Direct New York To Glasgow Flight...

Ireland's been covered for a while, London there's a flight just about every hour, but Scotland has been majorly lacking in direct US connectivity. In just two weeks Delta has launched direct service between New York and Edinburgh, now adding a second route to Glasgow. The flight, effective immediately, will depart New York in the late evening, arriving Scotland late morning before turning around to New York in the early afternoon. This is great news for the Scots and golf fans alike!
